Pacific City Church was planted in 2018 by Chris Meekins and his team in Santa Monica, CA. In this episode Michael and co-host Liz Moore (also a church planter in Princeton, NJ) talk through the issues facing church planters in the era of COVID-19. Chris and his team have tackled these new challenges with lots of creativity. This episode is a look back at the last couple months as well as a look forward into the future of the church and church planting post-quarantine.
Chris has ministry experience with the Vineyard Association of Churches, Young Life, FCA, and Navigators. He served with Vineyard Columbus Church on pastoral staff from 2005-2012. During his time, Chris helped to launch a campus ministry on various central Ohio campuses including The Ohio State University. He holds a BA in Political Science and Religion from Ashland University, a Master of Divinity from Ashland Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. His final thesis project explored a strategy for launching new churches in large US cities.
Chris’s passion is to lead people to experience the love of God in Jesus. He has a burden to call the church to experience spiritual awakening and see people fulfill their God-given purpose. Currently, Chris resides in Santa Monica, CA with his wife Nicole and their daughter, Maren.
