Pastoral Succession Resources and Support
Transition can be an area where pastors can deeply bless their communities by creating a process that supports a healthy longterm succession process. We at Multiply Vineyard are working to provide resources for pastors and church leaders to make that transition happen well. Our work with Multiply Vineyard puts us in contact with a lot of pastors, churches, and new pastors/planters who all looking for support in the process of pastoral succession.
How We Can Help:
Multiply Vineyard is helping as a clearinghouse for connecting pastors who are working to build a succession plan in their churches. If your church will be going into a season of transition over the next 1-5 years please let us know via the submission form below.
We also would like to be a resource for pastors who are seeking to find positions with Vineyard churches. We would like for you to contact us to let us know you are in process of seeking a pastoral position. In your communication with us we ask that you would send your resume as well as any other documents that you would feel supportive for a healthy communication with the churches you are seeking to support. We are not approving candidates, only working to share information.
We will then provide the information for the pastors who are looking for positions with the churches who are working with to create a succession plan. Due to the sensitive nature of pastoral succession for churches Multiply Vineyard will commit to keep your search process confidential until the time you are ready to go public with the process. Our process will simply connect churches and potential pastors within the movement. We will be giving information from potential pastors to pastors but never vice versa.
Pastoral Succession Resources:
This VUSA EQ Summit was designed to help pastors, boards, staff, and leaders navigate the big transitions that churches face. All of the recorded audio from the summit is provided in the link below. This is the best place to begin for Vineyard Pastors thinking about succession.
We work with Campion, Borrow, and Associates for all or our psychological assessments for church planters and Vineyard churches. They have a long standing relationship with the Vineyard as members and assessment supporters. Their Succession Evaluation can be invaluable in helping the process for a church and pastor. Please see their resources below.
We have a couple key texts that we continue to refer to as it relates to pastoral succession. Please see the ones below, and let us know if you have found any others the would be helpful to share.
