In 2012 I had the pleasure of attending the Midwest North regional conference in Duluth, MN. At one point during one during the conference there was a moment spent recognizing and honoring Jon and Sue Marsden, Senior Pastors of the River Heights Vineyard. When the larger gathering of Vineyard leaders were asked to stand if they were connected to or sent out from River Heights, I couldn’t believe how many leaders and churches were connected to Jon and Sue. I was speechless, to be honest. My first thought was, “If Jon and Sue had done things right, they would have kept all of those leaders and their church would be huge!”
And then the Holy Spirit nudged my heart with the weight of a Mack Truck. The Marsdens have embodied a principle that I am convinced must accompany the ethos of the Vineyard if we are committed to remain a church planting movement
Jesus, please forgive me for not having a better vision for your kingdom!
