Multiply Vineyard and Vineyard Institute have teamed up to provide an extensive tool to train new pastors and church planters: Residency+
Here are my top three reason for developing and using a residency model over the past few years:
1. The best training takes place in a healthy local Vineyard church.
We firmly believe that if you want to learn to do ministry well, the training we offer needs to be in the context of actively doing ministry in a healthy local Vineyard church. The Residency+ program is best facilitated with a cohort of leaders who are interested in learning, growing and working together.
2. The best training addresses these three core areas: Knowing, being and doing.
Our training is much more than just head knowledge. The Residency+ Program is structured to training and support leaders to know more deeply paradigms that shape health church ministry (Knowing). It includes focused content in spiritual development that will connect leaders more intimately with Jesus (Being). And as well, help leaders with practical ministry skills that they can implement immediately in your local church (Doing).
3. The best training combines the best of local mentors and hand-picked experts.
Our focus it so provide help structured training and support so that busy pastors don’t feel like they need to create a training program from the ground up. Our content delivered through the Vineyard Institute learning platform will make it easy to walk students through the program and you as the pastor will be able to mentor them in this process. Additionally, the program will include quarterly webinars where all of the students from across the country will get a chance to connect with Vineyard leaders and national experts!

We are currently working with over 10 sites across the US to launch the Residency+ Program in partnership with their local churches and Vineyard Institute. We have had a swell of interest from pastors looking to develop leaders and planters from within their local church. This program provides some of the best teaching from Vineyard leaders on developing church planters and developing leaders.
If you have yet to apply for your church to become a Residency+ site there is still time to enroll your church for the fall 2015 cohort. For those who have enrolled the Vineyard Institute deadline for new student applications closes August 24th. Then send your leaders to our website and help them apply to VI. Make sure they select the “Multiply Vineyard Residency+ Program” on the application. As a note, applications will not process until the application is paid for.
